For the Red, White, and Blue. Happy Birthday America!

Being festive is awesome but you don't have to look like a cheesy, real-life walking American flag in order to show some American spirit this Fourth of July. Instead, pull some of your favorite pieces together (red, white, blue, even gold!) and into a combo that shows spirit AND trend!

I paired my favorite blue jeans with a casual white top and sassy red heels for an All-American look that will go from a daytime BBQ to nighttime fireworks. I also threw in a jean vest just to add a little something extra to the look. That extra layer may come in handy as it cools off during fireworks.

What kind of trends are you incorporating into this July 4th holiday?

Also, what's a fire hydrant without a dog?! To top it off, Malibu is wearing a fabulous bow full of American spirit. Way to look excited girl! ;-)

Coco & Yves.

Literally obsessed with this sweatshirt. I'm not a regular sweatshirt wearer but this one I would make an exception. Paired with faux leather leggings to add a little sparkle and it's a perfect outfit for shopping, strolling, or lounging with friends.

A casual night in downtown...

Living in the city, I always keep in the back of my mind the need for comfort - especially shoes! I walk everywhere; night or day. Last night I paired a soft BCBG Maxazria button up shirt with light wash Hudson jeans and (comfortable) Vince flats. The look was effortless but still classic.
Details of where to find the items below...

A white night plus a side of trench coat!

'tis the season! White is one of those colors that just "chics" up an outfit but still looks so effortless. I paired a white James Perse tee with J Brand distressed jeans and white croc rag & bone booties. The nude trench coat added the icing on the cake with an unexpected twist. I plan on wearing many all-white outfits throughout the summer and these rag & bone booties are a great place to start! :)

ToeSox: A foot revolution

Recently ToeSox sent me 2 samples of their products to try out, so I got out my Manduka, put on these interestingly feeling socks and played around for a bit (of course, Malibu participated too). The purple socks were part of their "casual collection" which went up to the shins in height and felt very much like traditional, cozy socks (except for the individual toe slots). The black socks had mini rubber grips on the soles and reminded me of something I would wear to a Bar class or ballet. Out of the two pairs, the black seemed like something I could wear to a yoga class. I really liked the grip of the soles. Both socks take some getting used to because of the individual toe slots, but there's a reason they are made this way. ToeSox says...

"ToeSox is a healthy living company that specializes in footwear. We know that spreading your toes is the best thing you can do for your feet. So we designed our toe socks and sandals with five toe pockets (or spaces) to help align mistreated toes and feet naturally. ToeSox toe socks and Five Toe Sandals encourage you to spread your toes which helps strengthen foot muscles and increase blood circulation. Stronger feet improve posture, agility and balance. Get healthy, happy feet in ToeSox - they're like exercise for your feet™."

So there you have it. I definitely felt like my toes were more separated after I removed the socks. They felt more open and stretched! Also, I get pretty sweaty during my practice, so it was nice to have something to keep my feet dry so I could easily hold onto my feet during strenuous poses. :) What do you think? Would you wear socks like these during your yoga practice?

3 years ago today...

I married the love of my life. My soul mate. I know it sounds so cliche but Jason is truly the one that completes me. He finishes my sentences when I can't find the right word to say, he makes me laugh hysterically every.single.day, he knows just what to say (and not to say) when I'm pissy and always takes care of me (even when I'm fully capable of doing things myself).

3 years ago today, we married at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina. It was a perfect, warm, love-filled day in San Diego. Absolutely a dream. Happy Anniversary baby! I look forward to spending another 33+ with you! I love you. xo

A recap of my recent travels to Croatia and the Dalmatian Coast.

I've been MIA on my blog lately with my outfit posts, but I have a good reason! These last few weeks I was traveling throughout Croatia and Hungary (a post of my travels to Budapest to come next!). If you haven't been or considered traveling to Croatia, take my word for it and please GO there. The country is beautiful and so eclectic. You have the Dalmatian Coast lined with palms, Speedos and teal-colored water and then inland you have the freshest fruits and vegetables you could ever taste alongside fashion (they LOVE Converse out there), music and art. I hope some of my pictures help to tell the story and captured the true essence of what is Croatia. A beautiful country full of the love of life, food, relaxation, and the Sea. I apologize in advance for the massive roll of photos. There's just so much to share! Enjoy!

Croatia has the freshest and prettiest flowers!

View from our drive down the coast. Gorgeous!

Jumping into the Adriatic Sea! So fun!!

The Croatian Fire Department was performing some training and we were very close to the action! That's Jason's head bobbing in the water.

What's up Zagreb!

Capturing the perfect shot from the bell tower.

One afternoon on Hvar Island. The water was perfect.

Fried dough with nutella and powdered sugar topping. Mmmm...

Seafood risotto. The sweetest shrimps I have ever had. Freshly caught that day.

On Hvar Island, about a 2 hour ferry ride from the Split Harbor.

An elderly man weaving his fish net. Unaware and unconcerned with the time or the day. Just being in the present and weaving away.

The sunsets (every.single.night) are breathtaking.

Getting artsy.

Zara jeans, Converse shoes, Joie blazer, Celine trio crossbody bag

Old church. So romantic!

The grand, Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb, Croatia.

We spent a total of $10 at the local farmers market and ate like Kings!

The entrance to an old cemetery in Zagreb. Unbelievably beautiful.

Mini cakes!

A dog and his thoughts. He wanted to enjoy the sunset just as much as anybody else.
